Experimentation on coffee cultivation
The field hosts 25 Coffea arabica plants of different ages and varieties (Heirloom, Caturra, Pacamara, Catuai, Dendrobium, Bourbon rossa, Bourbon gialla), representing countries of the so-called Coffee Belt, cultivated in open ground.
This is an experimental project on the cultivation of coffee en plein air, made possible by ongoing climate changes and carried out by the Botanical Garden in collaboration with the Palermo-based coffee roastery Morettino.
