Botanical Garden
Studio Tucano - The Tropical Theme in Art and Fashion

FROM 4 SEPTEMBER TO 12 OCTOBER 2025
From 4 September to 12 October 2025, the Botanical Garden of Palermo, on the occasion of its 230th anniversary, will host the site-specific exhibition Studio Tucano | The Tropical Theme in Art and Fashion, conceived by the Gentili Mosconi Foundation, which explores the tropical theme as an artistic language and worldview.
The Historical herbarium in the Gymnasium is transformed into a creative atelier, where art and fashion intertwine through the exchange between different generations and languages.
The exhibition brings together canvases, paintings, textile designs, scarves, photographs, sketches and installationsinspired by tropical imagery, forming a multidisciplinary investigation that intertwines languages and integrates harmoniously with the nature and history of the garden. A journey that blends harmoniously with the nature and history of the Garden and connects the artistic universe of Beppe Spadacini, known for his precious prints and refined fabrics inspired by nature and tropical imagery, with the creations and installations of a collective of young artists, including Giulia Gentili, Pietro Fadda and Pollution Art, protagonists of a choral narrative in which art, fashion and new generations confront and dialogue with each other.
Particular emphasis is given to the biodiversity of palm trees, of which the Garden houses one of the largest and most prestigious collections in Europe.
