Sistema Museale di Ateneo. Divulgare la cultura, dare valore e bellezza alla città, rafforzare il legame con la comunità

This volume presents the Report 2017-2022 of the Sistema Museale di Ateneo (SiMuA) of the University of Palermo, an in-depth analysis of six years of activity of what is now a true “cultural hub”.

The report illustrates how the University's Museum System, inspired by the Botanical Garden's motto ‘miscuit utile dulci’ (combining the useful with the delightful), has succeeded in transforming its museums and the Garden itself into places of excellence for the dissemination and understanding of scientific thought. Not only a centre of knowledge, but also a space to cultivate intelligence and imagination, while offering opportunities for recreation, beauty and well-being.

Through the results achieved and supported by more than one million visitors in six years, the volume testifies to the Museum System's ability to independently generate the necessary resources for its own growth and improvement. The report is a thank you to all those who have contributed to this success, from the team of the University of Palermo and the Museum System to each individual visitor. It is a celebration of the progress and goals achieved by the University Museum System, which looks forward with confidence to future challenges and opportunities.
